Willow plantation at end of June – growing well – but will the drought bite?
1st of the woven willow track reinforcing panels rolls off the production line. Only another 119 to go. Laid flat in the track in pairs the idea is that it will make a drivable surface this winter and for a couple of years until we can sort the track properly.
Starting to turn the old fire pit into a pond. Had to stop removing the slabs around the edge as I found one toad and a nest of mice – returned their respective slabs.

Much grappling with ropes again to mount the new Kestrel box, didn’t want to use the massive 5″ screws provided into our lovely Oak tree.
This Dragonfly was very active on the land yesterday.
Much faffing around with rope today, securing the Barn Owl nesting box in an old oak tree without damaging the tree. Bit late for this year but hopefully some sort of owl will like it.
